Crafted from a wide-open loft space in a landmarked building on Lower Fifth Avenue, this 2,500 SF medical office for a new gastroenterology practice seamlessly merges old and new. The raw space was divided into an ample suite of office, exam and procedure spaces while surmounting technical challenges presented by the historic designation of the building and the office condominium neighbor below. Reflecting the owner’s taste for mid-century modern design, the space includes classic furniture choices accented by rich and warm materials such as limestone, chrome, and Venetian plaster.
